Rewood City Courthouse Square
Santa Rosa, CA
As part of the Downtown Precise Plan there was envisioned beautiful linear pavilions along the east and west sides of the newly opened Courthouse plaza. The pavilions match the historic courthouse in terms of materials and architecture very well. Next to the pavilions are a row of fountains which resemble Roman pots that pour water into attractive pools. The plaza features many sitable areas and many variations in shade and seating to suit every sort of weather and every sort of mood. In the center is a grand public plaza ideal for community events. It allows for a great view corridor between the historic Courthouse and the Fox Theatre, two of Redwood City's most beloved landmarks. The project received the Award of Excellence from the Congress of New Urbanism.
