FMG Architects Named Minority Firm of the Year

2006

Claudia Guadagne, architect and principal of FMG Architects, accepted the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO) Award for Minority Business Enterprise of the Year at the annual Awards Recognition Program held on August 17, 2006. Carole Ward Allen, President of the BART Board of Directors, presented the Award to FMG.

FMG Architects is a minority-owned architectural firm with offices in Oakland and San Francisco. FMG has been recognized for excellence in the design of transportation facilities over the last 25 years and is considered the preeminent MBE transportation architect in the Bay Area. FMG Architects’ transportation related clients include BART, AC Transit, CalTrain, Caltrans, MUNI, the Port of Oakland, San Francisco International Airport, Santa Rosa Transportation Agency, Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority, Los Angeles County Transportation Agency, The Transportation Agency for Monterey County and New Jersey Transit. FMG strives to uphold the COMTO legacy of ensuring full access to employment, promotion, and contract opportunities through training, education, and professional development of minority transportation professionals. Stan Moy Appointed to the San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission

FMG Architects is pleased to announce that Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has appointed Stan Moy to the San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission on May 5, 2005. The BCDC was created in 1965 by the California Legislature and has jurisdiction over open water, marshes and mudflats of greater San Francisco Bay including the first 100 feet inland from the shoreline around the Bay. The Commission is charged with regulating all filling and dredging, protecting the Suisun Marsh, and regulating new development within 100 feet inland to ensure maximum feasible public access, among other duties. Mr. Moy has completed a 5 year tenure with the California Seismic Safety Commission where he chaired the A.B. 16 and Natural Gas Safety subcommittees. He served as Commission Chair in 2003 and presided over hearings on the December San Simeon earthquake.
