As Dealer's Architect, FMG was responsible for developing the master plan proposal for both MBUSA and local government planning approvals. The plan consists of remodeling and additions to the existing dealerships and a major expansion to the east increasing the present site from 4.04 acres to 7.84 acres.

The existing three acre site is located in the Westlake Auto Mall, Thousand Oaks, California, and is one of the premier dealers in the San Fernando Valley-Ventura County market area for the BMW, Audi and Porsche dealerships. The 34,319 square foot facilities include over 17,000 square feet of new additions or remodeled space for showroom sales, customer service and parts and service. The new work features a 2 story, four lane service drive-up porte-cochere (shown) with administrative offices above.

Rusnak Pasadena asked FMG Architects to coordinate the DCM Dealership Identification Program together with a cost-effective solution renovating the showroom facade to give the building the marketing presence that reflects the DCM image of a state-of-the-art facility. The '50's modernist facade now has a symmetrically placed arched showroom entry feature with the new signature archway and existing horizontal fascia clad in the Alucobond paneling system.

The purchase in 2001 of an abandoned dealership site was the first ambitious step in a phased relocation and expansion from an existing, successful Mercedes-Benz dealership in Pasadena, California.The final site will increase from the present 4.04 acres to 7.84 acres thereby meeting the projected facilities sales, service and support requirements as one of MBUSA's premier dealers. The interior and exterior remodel and addition will remain part of the final master plan development. It is intended to complement and set the design theme for the future structures on the expanded site. The interior is designed to create a unique and exclusive setting for the Maybach Sales Environment.
